I am full of sorrow today at the passing of Bob Weir. But I am also full of love and gratitude for what he gave all of us over more than 60 years of making and performing incredible music — always fresh, unique and original.

Bobby pushed the limits of the imagination and eagerly mined the depths of the universe, both musically and spiritually. He was a true adventurer, and he inspired millions. How grateful I am to have seen him — with my wife and best friend — one last time in Golden Gate Park in August.

What a fantastically goofy, creative, mystical, funny, funky, endearing and magical musician, performer and human being. Thank you for everything, Bobby. Eternal love. Not fade away.
